Greatest Swing Value Breakout Expert Advisor

lwGreatestSwingValueBreakoutExpert.mq5 is an MQL5 Expert Advisor that implements a configurable Greatest Swing Value breakout strategy for research and historical testing.

Overview

The Expert Advisor converts the strategy rules into a systematic workflow:

  • Identifies bullish and bearish setup conditions.
  • Searches for the required qualifying failure swings.
  • Calculates the average failure-swing value.
  • Projects the breakout level from the current bar open.
  • Keeps each setup valid for one bar only.
  • Monitors M1 closing prices for a confirmed breakout.
  • Prepares stop-loss and take-profit levels according to the selected modes.
  • Supports manual and percentage-risk position sizing.
  • Validates broker-specific price and volume requirements.
  • Prevents overlapping positions managed by the EA.
  • Validates both local trade-method results and trade-server retcodes.
